snow horse
on the green lawn
still there
January thaw setting in and the grass is green all over Lexington. Yet, the snowmen still stand wearing their various hats, scarves and carrots. One snow horse on the lawn of the Henry Clay Estate, sill large enough for a child to ride.

six A.M. - I take the dog out and notice that the maple branch above me is perfectly aligned with a string of stars, curve by curve - and I wonder why there are no constellations named for trees - maple branch and sycamore bough. Perhaps the druids named stars for tree gods and the runes are just lost. Perhaps these runes were carved on the trees themselves.
Anyway, i am grateful for the clarity of a winter sky - no fog - no rain - no snow.
